 We're seeking a Director of Accounting in Atlanta, GA to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact.

SUMMARY:

The Director of Accounting is a key strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing the firm’s General Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Payroll Accounting functions. This role ensures the timely and accurate delivery of financial information critical to compliance, strategic decision-making, and business performance. The Director will play a pivotal role in optimizing accounting operations, systems, and controls to support the firm’s ongoing growth—both domestically and globally.

YOU WILL:

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management to accounting staff, fostering professional development and ensuring high-quality execution.

  • Oversee global accounting operations in emerging and existing international markets, partnering with external providers to implement and manage local statutory requirements and reporting obligations.

  • Direct the preparation and delivery of consolidated financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.

  • Lead the month-end close process at a strategic level, including oversight of key reconciliations, variance analyses, and financial reporting deliverables.

  • Manage and coordinate the external audit process, ensuring timely responses, appropriate documentation, and audit readiness.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on complex technical accounting areas, including purchase accounting, debt, leases, share-based compensation, and other non-routine transactions.

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to processes, systems, and internal controls that scale with the firm’s growth.

  • Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to define, test, and implement financial system enhancements—proactively monitoring system performance and control integrity.

  • Lead the accounting and financial integration of mergers and acquisitions, including purchase price accounting, valuation, and post-close operational alignment.

  • Oversee the administration of the Workday Financials system, reviewing and approving configuration changes that impact financial reporting and compliance.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and collaborative partner to internal stakeholders across Finance, Legal, HR, and Operations.

  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects, as assigned.


IDEALLY, WE’D LIKE:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience, 4+ years of public accounting experience preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.

  • Strong Excel knowledge .

  • Hands-on experience with Workday Financials or similar ERP systems.

  • Productivity – completes all work within the expected timeframe.

  • Accuracy of Work – completes all work in an accurate manner with few, if any, mistakes (especially with data).

  • Business Acumen – demonstrates capacity to operate role in line with the business needs, requirements, and changes.

  • Relationship Management – forms and maximizes relationships with business partners through effective and timely communication, responsiveness, knowledge share, and a solution-oriented approach.

  • Communication – provides clear messaging through emails, NH Weekly updates, power point presentations, etc. to inform and influence the business.

  • Cultural Awareness – demonstrates and utilizes an awareness of our culture and how data impacts, informs, and influences our culture.
