We're seeking an L&D Lead in Portland, OR for our retail and consumer products practice to transform organizational change into practical, engaging learning experiences. This is a 8-month contract assignment, onsite 4 days a week in the Portland Metro Area.

SUMMARY:

As an L&D Lead, you will bridge the gap between business strategy and capability development, ensuring employees have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in their evolving roles. You will help drive adoption of new processes, technologies, and ways of working that support major transformation initiatives.

YOU WILL:

  • Conduct comprehensive learning needs assessments to identify skill gaps and audience segments across the organization

  • Develop strategic learning roadmaps, curricula, and delivery plans tailored to business objectives and learner needs

  • Coordinate content development from conception through approval, ensuring quality, relevance, and alignment with organizational goals

  • Prepare trainers and facilitators for successful delivery, providing coaching and resources to build confidence and capability

  • Track learning completion rates, gather feedback, and measure program effectiveness through relevant metrics

  • Analyze post-implementation learning needs and recommend enhancements to maximize long-term impact

  • Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into accessible learning solutions

  • Apply adult learning principles to create engaging, practical learning experiences that drive behavior change


IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:

 

  • Demonstrated experience in learning needs analysis and instructional design methodologies

  • Proven track record developing training content and delivery plans for diverse audiences\

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and experience designing role-specific or technical curricula

  • Experience supporting transformation initiatives, technology enablement, analytics implementation, or process improvement programs

  • Experience evaluating and measuring learning effectiveness and return on investment

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all organizational levels

  • Project management capability to coordinate multiple workstreams and deliver on tight timelines

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners

  • Problem-solving orientation with a focus on practical, business-focused solutions
