We're seeking a Senior  AI & Data Engineer in Quito to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact.

SUMMARY

We are looking for a seasoned Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines within the AWS ecosystem. This role requires someone comfortable working independently in a client-facing environment, owning data solutions end-to-end.

YOU WILL:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within AWS.

  • Move and transform large volumes of data from multiple source systems into a centralized Data Lake (S3) and Redshift.

  • Develop ETL/ELT processes using AWS Glue, PySpark, and Python.

  • Implement data ingestion workflows using AWS DMS and Lambda functions.

  • Optimize Redshift data models and queries to support analytics and reporting needs.

  • Apply data modeling best practices to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity.

  • Implement CI/CD processes for data workflows within AWS environments.

  • Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Act as the primary Data Engineer on the client engagement, working autonomously and managing priorities effectively.


IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:
 

  • Strong experience as a Data Engineer working with large-scale data environments.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS data services, including Glue, Lambda, Redshift, DMS, and S3.

  • Solid understanding of data modeling concepts and best practices.

  • Intermediate-level SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.

  • Intermediate-level Python skills for data transformation and pipeline development.

  • Experience working with AWS CI/CD pipelines.

  • Basic experience with PySpark for distributed data processing.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a client-facing role.

  • Ability to manage responsibilities autonomously while maintaining high-quality delivery standards.
