We're seeking a Sr Consultant – Data & AI Governance in our Technology & Data practice to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact. 
 
SUMMARY  

As a Senior Consultant specialising in Data Governance, you will lead initiatives to establish and enhance data governance frameworks, operating models, and data quality standards.  

You will help organisations establish the governance foundations, operating models, policies, controls and stewardship capabilities required to enable trusted data and responsible AI at scale. Your expertise will help organisations unlock the value of their data assets through robust governance, metadata management, and strategic planning. 
 

YOU WILL: 

• Design and implement Data Governance and AI Governance operating models aligned to business objectives and regulatory requirements. 

• Define governance frameworks covering data quality, metadata, lineage, stewardship, ownership, retention and access management. 

• Help clients establish governance councils, stewardship forums, decision rights and accountability structures. 

• Develop policies, standards, controls and governance processes that support trusted data and responsible AI adoption 

• Assess organisational readiness for AI adoption and define governance controls required to manage risk, transparency and compliance 

• Support the design of AI governance frameworks covering model risk, explainability, human oversight, monitoring and ethical AI principles. 

• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and business teams to ensure governance requirements are embedded in data platforms, AI solutions, and operating processes. 

• Lead governance maturity assessments and develop strategic roadmaps for improvement. 

• Facilitate executive workshops and stakeholder engagement to build organisational alignment around governance priorities. 

• Translate complex governance, regulatory and AI risk concepts into clear business recommendations. 

 

IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE: 

• Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Management, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field. 

• 5+ years' experience delivering Data Governance, Data Management or Data Strategy initiatives, including experience leading workstreams or governance transformation programmes. 

• Experience designing and implementing Data Governance operating models, including Data Ownership, Data Stewardship, Governance Councils, decision rights, policies, standards and accountability frameworks. 

• Experience working within regulated industries such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, Financial Services, Utilities or the Public Sector, with an understanding of compliance, auditability and risk management requirements. 

• Strong knowledge of Data Governance disciplines including data quality, metadata management, business glossary development, lineage, master/reference data, retention and information lifecycle management. 

• Experience in assessing organisational data maturity and developing practical governance roadmaps aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements. 

• Understanding of AI Governance, Responsible AI and AI Risk Management principles, including areas such as model governance, transparency, explainability, human oversight and ethical AI practices. 

• Familiarity with leading governance and risk frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO standards, or equivalent governance methodologies. 

• Experience working with modern cloud and data platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric) sufficient to ensure governance requirements are embedded within platform and solution designs. 

• Experience facilitating executive workshops, stakeholder engagement sessions and governance forums, with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders. 

• Travel: regional travel expected on an as-needed basis, depending on client requirements.
