We're seeking a Senior Data Consultant (Public Sector Finance) to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact for our government agency client.
Please note, this is an initial 2-3 month (mid-February start - likely extension) inside IR35 PAYE Umbrella contract that will require onsite working in London 2 days per week
SUMMARY
As the Senior Data Consultant (Public Sector Finance) required for the Performance Team in Digital, Information and Security, you will play a crucial role in establishing clear ownership, transparency, and control over budgets, spend, and contractual commitments. Your expertise will help reduce manual effort, improve the accuracy and consistency of financial reporting, and mature the Finance function ahead of the new Target Operating Model.
YOU WILL:

Conduct a clear, auditable review of budgets, spend, cost centres, purchase orders, and contracts by budget holder

Implement robust bookkeeping and consolidated reporting to reduce manual effort, clarify ownership, and relieve pressure on the Digital, Information and Security Finance team

Work closely with finance teams, commercial leads, and delivery managers to link cost centres, purchase orders, and contracts, and improve data quality

Bring hands-on delivery capability, strong stakeholder management, and clear communication skills to translate financial information for non-specialists.
IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:

Relevant experience in the public sector, with a strong understanding of financial management and reporting

Ability to challenge, structure, and translate financial information without needing to be a qualified financial management specialist

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and implement solutions that enhance financial transparency and control

Proven track record of working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to drive process improvements and data quality

Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic environment and respond to changing requirements
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United Kingdom, without the need for visa sponsorship by North Highland. Work visa sponsorship will not be provided, either now or in the future, for this position.
