We're seeking a Specialist, Accounts Payable in our Quito, Ecuador Office to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact.

SUMMARY

This professional accounting position assumes responsibility for all aspects of the accounts payable function (AP) for The North Highland Company. This includes day-to-day disbursement entry, check generation, ACH and American Express payments and quality customer service to fellow employees and outside vendors.

YOU WILL:

  • Process AP and generate weekly check/ACH runs

  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations as assigned

  • Participate in year-end close and audit activities

  • Assist with 1099 preparation on an annual basis

  • Provide information and assistance regarding disbursements, applicable policies and procedures, local tax, etc.

  • Record journal entries in the accounting system and ensure appropriate supporting documents are provided

  • Assist with month-end close process

  • Ad hoc and special projects as requested

  • Performs other duties as assigned or as needs are identified

  • Embraces change with a positive attitude and actively contributes to continuous improvement initiatives


IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:
 

  • Three years’ professional experience in a directly applicable field.

  • Must be detailed oriented, possess strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)

  • Demonstrates unquestioned integrity and excellent professional judgment

  • Demonstrated success in quickly learning new systems and tools to manage business functions 

  • Demonstrates ability to work both independently and collaboratively, contributing to a strong team environment

  • Familiarity with accounting practices and procedures

  • Some knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and IFRS, accounting practices and procedures
