We're seeking a Sr. AI & Data Engineer in Quito to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact.

SUMMARY

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to lead critical data migration and optimization projects using Databricks and Unity Catalog. You’ll help design scalable data solutions that power analytics, AI, and business intelligence across the organization.


YOU WILL:

  • Lead data migrations from non–Unity Catalog to Unity Catalog environments in Databricks.

  • Develop and optimize scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Spark, and SQL.

  • Manage and organize data assets ensuring quality, compliance, and accessibility.

  • Collaborate with AI and BI teams leveraging GenAI, AI/BI Genie, and LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI API).

  • Automate workflows with Python and Databricks CLI.

  • Migrate tables, views, and job manifests while maintaining performance and data integrity.


IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:

  • Proven experience with Databricks (strongly preferred).

  • SQL expertise – this is non-negotiable.

  • Experience with Databricks CLI (big plus).

  • Experience with Spark platforms such as Fabric or Synapse (acceptable if no Databricks experience).

  • Familiarity with Databricks UCX migration tool (a huge plus, but not required).

  • Strong Python skills for data engineering and automation.

  • Familiarity with LLM APIs and GenAI-based integrations.

  • Functional English communication skills (translation assistance can be provided during interviews if needed).
