We're seeking a Staff Accountant - Revenue in Atlanta to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact.
SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant - Revenue is responsible for the setup and maintenance of the customer contracts within Workday.
YOU WILL:
- Develop collaborative relationships with client teams while helping client teams follow processes
- Perform risk assessment of contract terms to determine potential risks to the business
- Complete contract setup in Workday based on terms and conditions observed in contract and ensure that all cost elements are appropriately accounted for
- Partner with project teams to ensure that contracts are setup appropriately to accommodate revenue recognition and billing
- Support post-contract activities consisting of change orders, modifications, and closing of contracts
- Ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to consistently throughout the contract
- Assist with revenue month-end close processes
- Assist with year-end audit requests as needed
- Review transactions to ensure accurate reporting
- Analyze variable consideration (e.g., discounts, rebates, or penalties) and determine its impact on revenue recognition
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures for revenue, including preparation of revenue-related journal entries, reconciliation, and reports
- Other tasks and responsibilities, as assigned
IDEALLY, WE’D LIKE:
- Bachelors degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or similar discipline
- Demonstrated attention to detail, sense of urgency, and ability to learn quickly
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, ability to express complex situations clearly
- Strong knowledge of contract setup
- Ability to maintain strict deadlines and ensure responsibilities are completed in a timely fashion
- Proficient in MS Office
- Expert with Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.)
- ASC 606 experience, a plus
- Workday experience, a plus
