We're seeking a Data Engineer to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact for our Central Government client

*please note, this is an initial 3-6 month PAYE Umbrella contract that will require onsite working in London 2-3 days per week. Applicants must also have a valid SC clearance used in the last 12 months. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must also be a UK national or hold UK dual citizenship.

SUMMARY

As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in harnessing the power of data to drive positive change. Your expertise in data management and analysis will enable the organisation to make informed decisions and deliver impactfull solutions to address complex challenges.

YOU WILL:

  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources

  • Implement efficient data storage and retrieval mechanisms to ensure data integrity and accessibility

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

  • Optimise data processing workflows to enhance performance and reliability

  • Develop and maintain data models, data warehouses, and data lakes to support reporting and analytics

  • Implement robust data security and governance measures to protect sensitive information

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering technologies and best practices to continuously improve the organisation's data capabilities


IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • Significant experience in data engineering, with a strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and data modelling

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Spark

  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Azure

  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience with tools like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Strong communication skills to effectively translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • A passion for data-driven decision-making and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
