We're seeking a Head of Delivery to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact for our Government agency client.
*please note, this is an initial 3-6 month inside IR35 PAYE umbrella contract that will require up to 3 days working onsite in London. Given the nature of the role, a valid SC clearance used in the last 12 months will be required. Applicants must also be a UK national or have dual citizenship
SUMMARY
As the Head of Delivery, you will lead and shape the delivery capability, setting the strategic direction and ensuring the successful delivery of complex programmes and services. You will be a recognised expert in Agile and Lean delivery, driving excellence and influencing senior stakeholders to enable effective cross-functional delivery.
YOU WILL:

Provide strategic oversight of dependencies, risks, issues, budgets, and resources across multiple teams and services, acting as the senior escalation point

Set direction and prioritisation across the programme, balancing competing demands and optimising the allocation of people and resources

Lead engagement with senior stakeholders, aligning technical and non-technical perspectives and influencing decision-making at the highest levels

Support and enable Programme Directors and Delivery Managers, building capability and ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across the organisation

Shape, coach, and scale delivery approaches across the complex organisation

Demonstrate strong leadership and people management skills, including building capability, developing talent, and leading communities of practice

Exhibit exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to operate at senior levels and across organisational boundaries

Apply advanced problem-solving and systems thinking to resolve complex risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges

Leverage strategic planning capability, including aligning delivery with organisational strategy and managing multi-team environments

Demonstrate commercial and financial expertise, including influencing budgets, contributing to business cases, and balancing cost, value, and risk

Communicate effectively and facilitate discussions, with the ability to mediate, build consensus, and represent delivery management at scale
IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:

Extensive experience in senior delivery management roles, with a proven track record of leading and shaping delivery capability in complex organisations

Expert knowledge and practical experience in Agile and Lean delivery methodologies, with the ability to scale and coach these practices

Strong leadership and people management skills, including the ability to build and develop high-performing teams

Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and align senior stakeholders

Advanced problem-solving and strategic planning capabilities, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and align delivery with organisational objectives

Commercial and financial acumen, including experience in budget management, business case development, and balancing cost, value, and risk

Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
