MAKE STRATEGY A REALITY | ACCELERATE YOUR GROWTH | CHOOSE YOUR PATH

As the world's leading change and transformation consultancy, we're helping businesses move from strategy to reality by taking a pragmatic and practical approach to build solutions that last.
We're seeking a Senior Consultant - Enterprise Architect in our Technology & Data practice to help us take vision to value and create lasting impact.

SUMMARY

This client-facing role is responsible for supporting technology strategy, enterprise architecture and transformation engagements, helping clients connect business priorities to practical decisions across applications, infrastructure, cloud and data.
The role is suited to an aspiring Enterprise Architect who brings credible experience from at least one technology domain and wants to become a more rounded architecture and advisory professional. At this level, you will own defined pieces of work and contribute to larger architecture engagements and grow towards independently leading major enterprise-wide architecture transformations.

YOU WILL:

  • Support enterprise architecture, technology strategy and transformation engagements, working with clients to understand business priorities and translate these into practical architecture recommendations and roadmaps.

  • Assess current-state business and technology environments, identifying capabilities, constraints, risks, dependencies, technical debt and opportunities for improvement.

  • Contribute to the development of target-state and transition architectures across applications, infrastructure, cloud, integration and data.

  • Create and maintain architecture deliverables such as capability maps, technology landscapes, application portfolio views, system and integration diagrams, conceptual data views, architecture principles, roadmaps and decision records.

  • Support application portfolio assessments, technology rationalisation, cloud adoption, platform modernisation and data architecture initiatives.

  • Contribute to the design and assessment of IT operating models, including organisation, roles, governance, RACI, funding, demand, service management, sourcing and delivery processes.

  • Help clients connect architecture with the software development lifecycle, product management, programme delivery and engineering across Agile, DevOps, product-led and traditional delivery models.

  • Review solution and delivery proposals for alignment with strategic direction, architecture standards, security, data, resilience and operational requirements.

  • Facilitate workshops and interviews with business leaders, architects, product owners, engineers, data teams, operations, security and risk stakeholders.

  • Translate complex architecture topics, options and trade-offs into clear recommendations and decision materials for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Work collaboratively with senior architects and consultants while taking ownership of defined analysis, workstreams and high-quality client deliverables.

  • Adopt and communicate new concepts, methods, tools and architecture practices that could provide future value to our clients.

  • Support proposals, practice development and reusable methods across the Technology & Data practice, while coaching and collaborating with junior colleagues.

IDEALLY, WE'D LIKE:

  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Approximately 4-7 years of experience in technology consulting, architecture, solution design, technology strategy, engineering or a related field

  • Experience contributing to enterprise architecture, solution architecture, technology strategy or significant technology change initiatives, including ownership of defined workstreams or deliverables.

  • A broad understanding of application, infrastructure, cloud, integration and data architecture, supported by stronger practical experience in at least one of these areas.

  • Experience assessing current-state technology environments and helping define target states, architecture options, principles, standards or transition roadmaps.

  • Understanding of enterprise architecture concepts such as business capabilities, architecture domains, viewpoints, reference architectures, transition states, governance and design assurance.

  • Familiarity with frameworks, methods or notations such as TOGAF, ArchiMate, IT4IT, COBIT, UML or BPMN; formal certification is advantageous but not essential.

  • Experience of IT operating model work, or a good understanding of how technology organisations structure roles, governance, funding, demand, delivery, operations and supplier relationships.

  • A practical understanding of the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, build, test, deployment, release, support and continuous improvement.

  • Experience working with Agile, product or DevOps delivery and an understanding of how architecture can enable delivery while providing appropriate governance and control.

  • Awareness of application portfolio management, cloud adoption, platform modernisation, integration patterns, data platforms, data governance, analytics and AI-enabled transformation.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to structure ambiguous problems, assess options and trade-offs, and develop pragmatic recommendations.

  • Experience producing clear client-facing architecture deliverables using visual modelling, presentations and concise written communication.

  • Confidence facilitating workshops and communicating with senior business stakeholders, architects, engineers, programme teams and other technical and non-technical audiences.

  • A collaborative and intellectually curious approach, with a clear ambition to develop into a rounded Enterprise Architect and trusted client advisor.

  • Strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, hybrid environment.

  • Travel: regional travel expected on an as-needed basis, depending on client needs, up to 50%.
